What are the updated Canadian Food labelling requirements? How can CFCA help?

  In May 2025, there were major updates to the   Canadian Food Labelling   requirements under the Food Labelling Modernization Initiative of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.  The changes are intended to increase transparency, public health, and also the harmonization with other international standards. Key updates to Canadian Food Labelling Requirements: Nutrition Symbols on the Front of the Package: From July 20, 2022, with a transition period expiring on December 31, 2025, food products contained will be required to display if the levels of saturated fat, sugars or sodium meet or exceed the set limits. Updated Nutritional facts table: The nutrition facts table has recently been updated, providing daily value standards for three different age groups: infants and children, and adults and children 4 years and older.
